The mission of
Hope Cancer Resources is to provide
compassionate, professional cancer support and
education to the Northwest Arkansas region today
and tomorrow. Our vision is to be recognized as
the premier source for comprehensive cancer
support services while enhancing quality of
life.
In September 2009, Northwest Arkansas Radiation
Therapy Institute (NARTI) and HOPE, Inc. merged
their patient support and community outreach
services to become Hope Cancer Resources. By
bringing these two organizations together, the
boards of directors created an entirely new
organization to provide cancer support and
education to the communities in Northwest
Arkansas. Hope Cancer Resources is a 501C3
non-profit organization. The legal name is
Northwest Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute
doing business as Hope Cancer Resources.
Hope Cancer Resources employs a
highly-professional staff which includes a team
of licensed oncology social workers, a Spanish
interpreter, and certified health education
specialists. Our transportation service is
provided to take patients to every cancer
treatment as needed as well as education to help
a patient during and after their treatment.
Financial assistance is also for prescription
medications, nutritional supplements, gas cards,
as well as everyday living expenses to alleviate
some of the financial stress a patient and their
family may face.
Believing emotional support is essential for
healthy survivorship, we offer this service
ranging from a kind word or listening ear to
one-on-one, couples or family counseling
sessions with a licensed mental health
professional. Hope Cancer Resources also
provides emotional support in group settings.
In addition, Hope Cancer Resources will impact
the community by providing free cancer
screenings and cancer prevention education for
public schools, employers and the general
public. This education includes breast
self-examination, smoking cessation, tobacco
prevention, promoting healthy lifestyles and
other means to reduce the risk of cancer.
The programs of Hope Cancer Resources are funded
in part through grants from the Cancer
Challenge, Ozark Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for
the Cure, the Walmart Foundation, Arkansas
Cancer Coalition, Delta Dental of Arkansas
Foundation, Willard and Pat Walker Charitable
Foundation, the Winthrop Rockefeller Cancer
Institute Auxiliary and the NARTI Foundation as
well as corporate and individual donations.
