Support Groups in NWA  

Having the support of others while going through cancer treatment can be an important part of the overall healing process for patients and caregivers. Participating in a group with people who are undergoing a similar situation can make a significant contribution in restoring a sense of well-being.

Art, Healing & Hope: Collaging Your Story
This 6-week art group is available for patients with any type of cancer.  All supplies needed for the project will be provided.  For more information or to RSVP (reservations are required), call Miki Biggers, LCSW, OSW-C at 479-361-5847.

Blood Cancers
For adult patients, family and friends coping with leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, MDS and other blood cancers meets once a month at Hope Cancer Resources, 5:30-7:00 p.m. Contact Julie Kientz, LSW at 479-361-5847 for more information.

Breast Friends
This group is for women with breast cancer who live in Madison County and meets the 2nd Tuesday every month at 5:00 p.m. at the Madison County Health Unit in Huntsville. For more information, call 479-738-2612.

Cancer Survivors Carroll County
The group is open to any with a cancer diagnosis and their family the 1st and 3rd Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at the Holiday Island Community Church. Call 479-253-7235 for information.

CLIMB – Children’s Lives Include Moments of Bravery
For children ages 6-12 who have a parent or other adult loved one with cancer. This 6-week program is offered twice a year.  Contact Lauren Dallas, LCSW at 479-361-5847 for more information or to RSVP (reservations are required).

Coping and Conversation
Anyone with a cancer diagnosis and their caregiver are welcome every Wednesday at noon at the Washington Regional Cancer Support Home in Fayetteville. Call 479-521-8024 for information.

Empower Your Recovery: A Program for Healing & Growth for Living Beyond Cancer
This new support group is a 5-week program that provides support and education for living beyond cancer, after treatment ends. The group will cover physical recovery, self-care, relationships, doubt and hope in survivorship, and what’s next. The group is open to anyone who has completed treatment for any type of cancer. Faithful Friends
Breast cancer support group that meets on the 3rd Monday of every month at 11:30 a.m. Call 479-756-1700 for more information.

Lymphedema Support Group
Patients affected by lymphedema and caregivers are invited to meet quarterly from 12:00-1:30pm at Highlands Oncology Group in Rogers. Please contact Letty Hug, LSW at 479-361-5847 for more information.

Pink Divas Breast Cancer

NWA Peer Network Prostate Cancer
The Peer Network is a completely private and confidential setting for prostate cancer survivors to get together to discuss prostate cancer-related issues. It meets the 3rd Tuesday every month at 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Springdale Country Club. For more information, call 479-521-8024.

Prostate Cancer
Supports men diagnosed with prostate cancer and their partners. This group meets the 4th Tuesday every month at Community Church in Bella Vista, 4:00-5:00 p.m. (except November and December). Call 479-855-1126 for information.

SPOHNC – Support for People with Oral, Head & Neck Cancers
This group is dedicated to meeting the emotional and physical needs of oral and head and neck cancer patients and their caregivers. This group meets the 3rd Saturday every month at 10:00 a.m. at the Washington Regional Cancer Support Home at Fayetteville. Contact Jack Igleburger at 479-876-1051.

Supporting Stage IV
This group provides support for men and women living with any type of stage IV cancer. Group members will have the opportunity to share personal experiences and discuss coping tips and strategies. This group meets the last Friday of every month from 1-2:30 p.m. at Hope Cancer Resources. You must RSVP for this group. Survivors Circle
A support group for women with cancer, meets the first and third Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Washington Regional Cancer Support Home in Fayetteville. Call 479-521-8024.
